Stefanie Mayfield Garcia is an award-winning marketing instructor and internship advisor at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Her twenty-year career in the field of marketing includes experience in advertising, public relations, graphic design, marketing research, sales management, and international marketing for everything from start-up small businesses to global brands. During her twelve years of teaching, she has led numerous career workshops and seminars and provided career coaching for thousands of students entering the workforce. This handbook is a culmination of her personal experience in her own job hunt and consulting business, professional practice as a recruiter in the sales and marketing industries, experience launching new brands, mentor activities with undergraduate and graduate students, and interactions and interviews with hiring managers throughout the nation. In addition to teaching, advising students, writing, and operating her own consulting business, the author is a wife, mother of four children, triathlete, and dedicated volunteer in the local community.

Ms. Garcia received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas in Austin and a master’s degree in advertising and public relations from Florida International University in Miami.
